Research Focus
Dr. Xiaoyong Yang's lab focuses on the role of a specific brain region, the ventromedial hypothalamus (VMH), in regulating body weight and metabolism. By studying the molecular mechanisms of O-GlcNAc transferase (OGT) in the VMH, the lab aims to understand how the brain senses nutrients and hormones to control energy balance and adipose tissue function. This research could lead to new therapies for obesity and related health issues.
