Research Focus
Dr. James D. Weiland's lab focuses on developing advanced technologies to restore vision to individuals with retinal degeneration. They work on creating innovative retinal prosthetics that improve visual acuity and quality, as well as systems to assist visually impaired individuals with navigation using multimodal interfaces. Through a combination of engineering and neurobiology, the lab aims to enhance the functional capabilities of assistive devices in everyday life.
