Research Focus
Dr. John Blazeck's research lab focuses on enhancing immune cell therapies to improve their effectiveness against cancer. The lab aims to manipulate the metabolism of T cells so they can better compete with tumors for nutrients and overcome the immunosuppressive environment created by cancer cells. By using the principles of synthetic biology and metabolic engineering, the lab is pioneering new ways to enhance the capabilities of T cells in fighting cancer. This work could lead to significant advancements in cancer treatments, especially for solid tumors.
