Dr. Marco Brocanelli's research lab focuses on developing innovative solutions to improve outdoor navigation for people with visual impairment (PVI). By creating a mobile framework called VisionWay, the lab aims to evaluate and provide accessible path recommendations, taking into account real-world sidewalk conditions like potholes and obstructions. The project leverages technological advancements and insights from individuals with lived experience of visual impairment to enhance wayfinding tools.
