Kathy Steece-Collier · Neuroscience
Dr. Kathy Steece-Collier's lab focuses on developing gene therapy techniques to treat levodopa-induced dyskinesia (LID), a painful side effect of Parkinson's disease medications. The lab investigates how silencing specific calcium channels in the brain can help prevent or reverse LID, especially in older patients and those with varying onset ages. Ultimately, the goal is to improve the quality of life for people living with Parkinson’s disease by exploring new therapeutic options for LID.
